크리스티안 하스(Christian Haas)는 1974년 독일 에를랑겐에서 태어났다. 그는 대학에서 산업디자인학과를 졸업한 지 1년 만인 2000년 자신의 스튜디오 CHRISTIAN HAAS를 설립했다. 이후 가구부터 램프, 도자기, 유리 등 다양한 제품군의 디자인을 선보이고 있다. 크리스티안 하스의 디자인 접근법은 단순함과 우아함을 겸비하고 있다. 독자적인 미적 감각은 진정성, 유용성, 감정성, 내구성 그리고 독특함의 조화를 특징으로 발현된다. 그의 스튜디오는 로젠탈(Rosenthal), 아리타 2016(Arita 2016), 텍타(Tecta), 클래시콘(ClassiCon) 등 세계적인 브랜드, 엄선된 디자인 갤러리와 협업해왔다. 차곡차곡 쌓아온 포트폴리오는 레드 닷 디자인 어워드(Red Dot Design Award)와 엘르 데코레이션 인터네셔널 디자인 어워드(Elle Decoration International Design Award)등 다양한 어워드에서 수상의 영광을 안있다. 특히 크리스티안 하스의 아카이브 중 가장 주목할 만한 작품은 비트라(Vitra) 디자인 박물관의 영구 소장품 중 하나인 로프 램프 에디션(The Ropes edition of lamps)이다. 여기에 일본 브랜드 카리모쿠 뉴 스탠다드(Karimoku New Standard)의 종합 가구 시리즈와 유럽 테이블웨어 브랜드 빌레로이앤보흐(Villeroy & Boch)의 작품들을 통해 세계적으로 디자인 실력을 인정 받기 이르렀다. 아시아와 유럽의 식탁 세팅 스타일 비교 연구를 시작으로, 컬렉션의 접시와 그릇을 형태와 크기 면에서 재정의한 제품들은 일본 미적 감각에 내재된 겸손함과 복잡함을 유연하게 융합시켰다. 크리스티안 하스는 현재 스튜디오가 있는 포르투갈의 포르투에 거주하며 독자적인 디자인 작업을 이어나가고 있다.

스카우트 테이블(Scout Table)은 스카우트 체어의 특징적인 디테일을 차용했다. 심플하고 단정한 외관으로 어떤 의자와도 유연하게 어울리도록 만들어졌다. 견고한 중앙 지지대와 컴팩트한 치수로 카페나 레스토랑은 물론 작은 거주 공간에도 적합하다. 두 가지 높이의 테이블은 표준 식탁 높이보다 낮아 커피 테이블로 사용하기 알맞다. 참나무 재질의 테이블 상판은 단단한 강철 고정 장치로 브리지에 부착됐다.

The inspiration for Cru are archaic vessels, used in different cultures within living memory. The
fine bowls and plates are made of colored ceramic mass in lava and sand, soft irregularities create
uniqueness. The outside is polished by hand to achieve a smooth touch while the inside is transparent glazed to enhance the deepness of the colored body. The plates serve also as lids for the bowls.
